Head of Operations

SUMMARY:
Our client in the Logistics Industry has an opportunity available for Head of Operations in the Cape Town area.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

• Grade 12/ Matric
• Must have a relevant 4 year Qualification in Logistics/Business Management/Business Administration or equivalent (NQF 7)
• Must have a Management Course/Qualification - NQF Level 5/6/7
• Management Development Program - recommended
• Must have 8 years of operational experience in Logistics and/or Operations
• Must have 5 years of Managerial/Supervisory experience in Logistics and/or Operations
• Must have 2 years of operational exposure to e-commerce delivery networks, groceries or quick service restaurants
• Code B Motor vehicle license
• Microsoft Office (Office, Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
• Webservice Interfaces will be desirable
• Strong understanding of software platforms, systems and continuous improvement
• Knowledge of the logistics/distribution industry
• Knowledge of relevant legislation
• Flexibility to meet customer requirements

• Provide Organisational Leadership via strategic and tactical direction ensuring that execution of Operations and deployment of resources is to the cost and service level expectations of customers
• Service level agreements are in place and agreed to meet business requirements
• Monitor performance against agreed KPIs and targets by take corrective actions as and when required
• Client relationship
• Manage managers in the achievement of planned divisional objectives and targets
• Accurate monthly reports submitted (Service KPI’s, productivity, losses, Cost to serve)
• Manage the company’s risk exposure through identification and maintenance of risk control measures to minimize liability
