Head of PMO

SUMMARY:
My client is seeking an experienced Head of PMO & Risk to establish and lead a new PMO and Risk function within a growing payments fintech business. This opportunity is suited to a commercially astute, hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, understands the payments landscape, and can build robust governance, risk, and delivery frameworks from the ground up.

POSITION INFO:
Job Description: Reporting into executive leadership, you will take ownership of the PMO and enterprise risk function, ensuring strategic initiatives, payment platform enhancements, regulatory projects, and client deliverables are executed effectively. You'll play a key role in creating structure, embedding governance, managing organisational risk, and driving delivery excellence while partnering closely with clients, internal stakeholders, and regulators. Skills & Experience: Proven experience within a payments, fintech, banking, or financial services environment is non-negotiable Strong background in enterprise risk management, governance, compliance, and regulatory frameworks Experience leading or building a PMO function within a highly regulated environment Ability to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate business, operational, regulatory, and project risks Experience maintaining risk registers, governance processes, audit readiness, and compliance controls Strong programme and project management experience across enterprise-scale initiatives Client-facing professional with the confidence to engage at executive and board level Highly structured and detail-oriented, with exceptional documentation and reporting capabilities Strong business acumen with the ability to spot opportunities, challenge thinking, and add strategic value Self-starter who enjoys building processes, creating order, and getting involved in the detail when required Excellent written communication skills, with a track record of producing high-quality project, governance, risk, and executive reporting documentation Experience working with Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery methodologies Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive accountability across the business Qualification: Bachelor's degree in business, Risk Management, Finance, Commerce, or a related field PMP, PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile, Waterfall, or similar Project Management certification Certified Risk Manager (CRM) advantageous Certified Compliance Professional advantageous Experience working with financial regulators and compliance frameworks is highly desirable Connect with us on and Register your CV to create a profile or to view all our Jobs in Information Technology.
