JOB SUMMARY:
Our client is urgently looking for a Head of Procurement (Bedfordview), that's strategically orientated with the ability to implement the strategy with a hands-on approach.
Min 8 years’ experience in Procurement.
Min 3 years’ experience as Head of Department.
Diploma or Degree in Procurement or Supply Chain Management essential. MUST come from the Construction or Engineering industry. In-depth knowledge of BBBEE scorecards for procurement is not negotiable.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12.
N.Dip or Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or relevant commercial qualification.
Minimum of 8 years' purchasing department experience.
Minimum 3 years in a managerial capacity.
Excellent Leadership skills with a proven track record.
Budget control and cost management.
Solid understanding and implementation of BBBEE scorecards for procurement.
Construction and Engineering industry experience.
Global exposure.

They are looking to appoint a strong and dynamic Head of Procurement with strong people and interpersonal skills with the ability to efficiently drive a team.

Duties and Responsibilities

Define, develop and manage procurement processes, procedures and systems through review and enhancement of current processes, procedures, best practices and managing the compliance thereof.
Provide the business with procurement, supplier, shipping and supply chain contract management activities through supplier relationships and managing service level agreements.
Ensure supplier project requirements are met as per the business needs and timeframes
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner.
Keep abreast of national and international procurement and supply development in the marketplace and ensure compliance to various certification bodies.
Promote and comply with high ethical and corporate governance principles and policies.
Implement tender procurement processes and adjudication judgements and operate within the relevant legal frameworks.
Training and development of staff through succession management, implementing training initiatives on procurement processes and procedures, managing key performance indicators for the staff and procurement function and acting as a mentor to employees to assist in development.
Create a Procurement framework that supports long term and short-term contract requirements, and maximize savings, rebates and discounts.
Report to International CPO and Local exco team the monthly status on current procurement projects.
Manage and maintain an effective supplier database, in terms of quality, compliance and relevance.
Manage the transformation requirements for the organisation and identify opportunities for supplier and enterprise development opportunities to ensure sufficient points on BBBEE scorecard for procurement.
Implement international group-wide procurement initiatives.
Attend international group procurement forums.
Drive and deliver function objectives (KPIs).
Maintain, update and manage value plan, through driving procurement savings.
