JOB DESCRIPTION:

HEAD OF SUPPLY CHAIN

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all supply chain activities across the business.
  • Produce regular performance reports based on KPI analysis.
  • Manage and develop the warehouse and inventory team.
  • Develop the strategy and business plan for supply chain management.
  • Manage and lead all customer service functions within the business.
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, such as suppliers or distributors.
  • Obtain competitive pricing for stock and materials.
    • Develop, implement, and review risk mitigation strategies including but not limited to forex exposure, insurance and business continuity.
    • Develop, implement and review pricing models to ensure target bands on product gross profit are achieved.
    • Efficiently plan and schedule flow of work to meet customer deadlines.
    • Managing forecasting, demand, and supply planning.
    • Budget Management.
    • Develop problem solving skills within the customer team to ensure timely execution of customer queries as well as long term process improvements.
    • Negotiating commercial terms with suppliers.
    • Lead the transformation of the Supply Chain operation in line with or ahead of the demands of our businesses.
    • Developing the skills & capability of Supply Chain best Practices, business sector knowledge and analytics across the team.
    • Build and effectively manage partnerships within our supply chain network.
  • Implementing cost reduction principles in all aspects of warehousing transaction and service transportation activities
  • Ensuring that goods are delivered in the right quantities, to the right customer, and at the right time (on time and in full OTIF)
  • Selecting, negotiating, and implementing supply orders in accordance with the right policy and procedures as stated by the organization’s conditions
  • Undertaking the full review and development of warehouse systems and procedures
  • Ensuring that materials are always available, especially when required, and that planning functions are effectively and efficiently managed
  • Monitoring and overseeing the maintenance and well-being of stores vehicles, machinery, and all other equipment

Qualification and experience requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience managing Supply Chain within Retail for a multi-store, multi-channel business, Franchised Stores and Distribution.
  • Tertiary degree in Supply Chain Management, Financial Management, Engineering, or another technical field from an accredited university.
  • Experience in using Supply Chain Management systems for Sales Forecasting and Demand planning.
  • 8 - 10 years + experience leading, growing and developing teams.
    • Experienced in a similar, senior supply chain role (not purely warehouse focused).
    • Leadership.
    • Strong planning skills.
    • Highly commercial and analytically orientated.
    • Understands numbers and forecasting of products.
    • Strong and inspirational leader.
    • Able to bring together Supply Chain, Head office, Operations and Customers.
