Head of Technology

SUMMARY:
Job purpose: Ongoing development of technical solutions for Company and Clients. The role will also include constant research of new international products and technology – the goal will be to acquire the rights to distribute this technology in South Africa and Africa.

• 5+ years’ experience
• Digital signage or electronics Industry relating to installations of displays and audio

Job Description:

Product Development:

• Procuring new and more cost-effective hardware and technology rich solutions.
• Produce Golden sample for Production on custom solutions.
• Requesting of all new stock codes from Accounts Department and updating stock order sheets.
• Incorporating Company solutions into store units and shop fitter designs.
• Creating and maintaining all Windows based solution from client product to background services.
• Procuring, setup and demonstration on client demo’s and pilots.
• Creating Engineering drawings only as reference, for manufacturing.

Conduct Testing:

• Testing and improving of prototypes and samples units.
• Ensure product integrity through thorough testing of the requirements for reliable in-field deployment.
• Ensure that complete solutions are designed to specification in order to extend the lifetime of hardware.
• Testing Windows and Android based solutions.
• Testing new revisions of hardware releases.
• Testing Issues found in the field for possible solutions.

Supply Chain

• Sourcing new suppliers locally and international together with procurement, building relationship and negotiate cost on special projects.
• Meet with suppliers to discuss requirements and new hardware/technology.

Maintain Documentation

• Creating and maintaining of HOWTO and Best Practice documents.
• Creating and maintaining of a BOM''s for all Networks and Products.
• Creating and maintaining of Installation and Training Guides.
• Creating of spec sheet and engineering drawings on new solutions designs.
• Creating product sheets.
• Creating Project and solution schematics on new solutions for costing purpose.
