SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Health & Safety Officer to manage and maintain health, safety, and legal compliance.
POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Diploma / Degree in Safety Management or relevant technical qualification
- 3–5 years’ experience in Occupational Health & Safety (corporate or industrial environment advantageous)
- Strong knowledge of South African OHS legislation
- Valid driver’s licence and own transport
Duties and Responsibilities:- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and related legislation
- Manage health and safety systems across buildings, machinery, vehicles, forklifts, and equipment
- Oversee contractor safety, risk assessments, and compliance
- Maintain all H&S documentation, records, reports, and legal submissions
- Conduct inspections, audits, incident investigations, and corrective actions
- Coordinate fire drills, emergency procedures, and safety training
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and external auditors
- Support Quality Management Systems (QMS), ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards
- Manage site security systems and contractor activities
