Health and Safety Officer

SUMMARY:
An Internal Vacancy exists for a Health and Safety Officer in the Guarding Division at Witbank.
 
The suitable candidate’s main responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:  

POSITION INFO:

• Ensure that the Company complies with all statutory requirements as per the Occupational Health & Safety Act and relevant regulations.
• Implement and manage an effective SHE management system.
• Ensure that all third parties (contractors/sub-contractors/suppliers) comply with regulations as per the OSHACT; Establish, implement, and manage SHE committees.
• Conduct monthly SHE Audits, SHE committee meetings and generate monthly reports.
• Render assistance to branches regarding health and safety issues when required.
• Proper and timely assessment of risks to health and safety and implementation of measures and arrangements identified as necessary from the assessment.
• Ensure legal compliance with regulations.

• Certificate in NOSA (SAMTRAC) or equivalent (NQF5)
• Registered with the institute of Safety Managers.
• Excellent written & Verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge and understanding of the relevant legislation.
• Relevant experience in the Health & Safety environment at a senior level.
• Knowledge and experience with ISO will be an advantage, Proficient in MS office.
• Ability to communicate and present at all levels.
• Driver’s License and own vehicle.
• No criminal record and clean disciplinary record; Ability to work as a team.
• Willing to work long hours/overtime as and when required.
