Horticulturist & Garden Manager - Durbanville

Our client, who is situated in Durbanville, has this exciting opportunity available to appoint an experienced and passionate Horticulturist and Garden Manager for their 3-hectare garden with the emphasis particular on plants.

This position requires a hands-on approach from a Leader who can organize, plan, execute and deliver on the successes of a well-established garden and ensuring optimal process-driven management efficiencies.

The Horticulturist will report to the Landscape Manager.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 Certificate ;
• A Tertiary qualification in Horticulture (Diploma or Degree in Horticulture) or similar
• 5 years’ professional garden management and horticulture experience;
• The ability to work with all types of equipment and machinery i.e. hand-held earth moving equipment as well as other machinery like shovels, diggers, rakes and other hand-held tools;
• In-depth knowledge in working with various types of plants; best management practises, plant identification and design preferred;
• Eye for detail;
• Problem solving skills;
• Ability to work with deadlines and achieve targets;
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills and assertiveness;
• Valid driver''s license and reliable transportation
