We are now looking for an experienced and proactive Facilities Engineering Manager to lead and develop our estates and engineering services.

We are now looking for an experienced and proactive Facilities Engineering Manager to lead and develop our estates and engineering services.

The Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the hospital’s engineering and building services, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and medical gas systems.
• Ensure all systems comply with healthcare standards (HTMs, HBNs), legislation, and health & safety regulations.
• Manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the estate.
• Oversee and coordinate external contractors and specialist service providers.
• Prepare and manage engineering budgets and capital expenditure plans.
• Support environmental sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives.
• Provide engineering input into refurbishment, expansion, and capital projects.
• Lead emergency response for engineering-related incidents and infrastructure failures.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
• Proven experience in engineering management within a hospital or healthcare environment.
• Experience managing a team of technical staff and contractors.
• Excellent understanding of complex building systems and technical operations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
