Hotel Financial Controller

SUMMARY:
Can you take full ownership of a hotel’s finances and confidently run the books through to trial balance?
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Hotel Financial Controller to manage the full financial function across two trading entities. This role requires strong hotel or lodge finance experience, excellent reconciliations and the ability to work independently through month-end.

POSITION INFO:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - Minimum 4 years' full financial function experience within hotels or lodges - Proven ability to independently take books through to trial balance - Strong bank, card merchant and control account reconciliations - Daily hotel revenue reconciliation experience - Creditors and debtors management, including age analyses - End-to-end payroll processing and monthly submissions - VAT preparation and reconciliation experience - Stock and cost-of-sales experience - Accruals and journal processing - Strong Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tables - Relevant bookkeeping\/accounting qualification or equivalent proven experience - Highly organised, accurate and able to meet strict monthly deadlines KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Manage the full financial function for two entities - Process both ledgers through to trial balance - Complete bank, revenue and control account reconciliations - Manage creditors, debtors and payment runs - Process payroll, EMP201 and VAT - Maintain stock, cost-of-sales and fixed asset records - Prepare month-end schedules and supporting documentation - Identify discrepancies and unusual financial movements - Support and guide an existing finance administrator SYSTEMS Experience with Xero is advantageous. The operation also uses Nightsbridge, Semper, Yoco, SimplePay and HubDoc. We are looking for someone who can own the ledger, understand the numbers and identify when something does not look right.
