Hotel General Manager

SUMMARY:
Are you a Hotel General Manager who truly understands the business behind the guest experience?
We are looking for an accomplished, hands-on and commercially astute Hotel General Manager who can take full ownership of hotel performance. You must be equally confident leading the operation, developing people and owning the numbers - from P&L and budgets to occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, GOP and rate strategy.

POSITION INFO:
This is a long-term, on-site leadership opportunity for a GM who wants to become genuinely invested in the business and Montagu community. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Full responsibility for hotel operations and performance - P&L ownership, budgeting and cost control - Occupancy, ADR, RevPAR and GOP performance - Rate strategy and yield management - Sales, marketing and distribution channels - Guest experience and service standards - Lead and develop Heads of Department - Monthly performance and owner reporting - Supplier and industry relationships - Online reputation and guest feedback - Refurbishment and asset-care planning - Drive accountability and operational standards ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS - 8-10 years' senior hospitality management experience - Proven Hotel General Manager experience - Boutique or comparable hotel experience - Strong P&L, budgeting and financial management capability - Strong revenue management and rate strategy knowledge - Sound understanding of hotel PMS and distribution channels - Strong sales and marketing understanding - Proven senior team leadership experience - Commercially astute and financially disciplined - Hands-on, visible and operationally involved leadership style - Strong guest service orientation - Confident decision-maker with a high level of accountability - Genuine long-term commitment to living and working in Montagu - South African citizen ADVANTAGEOUS - Multi-property management experience - Strong Food & Beverage experience - Western Cape hospitality or wine industry network - Afrikaans - German language skills Permanent | Full-Time | On-Site | Live-Out | Montagu, Western Cape This role requires a GM who sees softer occupancy and asks why, understands what is driving the numbers and takes action, rather than waiting for the month-end report. Only experienced Hotel General Managers meeting the requirements will be considered.
