Our client, based in Bloemfontein, is looking for a dynamic, values‑driven Human Resources Business Partner to join their team and support strategic HR delivery across their operations.
This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a unionised environment, builds strong relationships with managers and employees, and ensures fair, consistent HR practice.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree or relevant diploma in Human Resources.
- 3+ years HR generalist experience.
- Experience working in a unionised environment.
- Strong understanding of HR legislation (BCEA, LRA, etc.).
- Computer literate (SAP proficiency advantageous).
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
- Must be based in Bloemfontein.
About the Role
As the HRBP, you will act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, ensuring alignment between HR strategies and operational needs. You will drive recruitment, employee relations, talent management, organisational development, and HR project implementation within your area of responsibility.
You will also play a key role in fostering a positive employee experience, supporting transformation goals, and ensuring compliance with HR governance and legislation.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Management
- Lead and support recruitment and selection processes to ensure fair practice and compliance.
- Provide developmental feedback to internal applicants and support career development planning.
- Analyse turnover and EE statistics and advise on proactive strategies.
- Implement and improve internal recruitment processes and turnaround times.
- Support organisational design, workforce planning, and succession planning.
Employee Relations
- Coach and empower managers on ER matters, legislation, and policy application.
- Ensure fair, consistent handling of disciplinary and grievance processes.
- Represent our client at CCMA hearings.
- Maintain ER databases and analyse ER trends to recommend proactive interventions.
HR Business Partnering
- Build strong relationships with managers and employees to deliver HR best practice.
- Provide expert HR advice on performance management, talent forums, and HR interventions.
- Facilitate onboarding, induction, and exit processes.
- Cascade business communication and support employee engagement.
HR Projects & Change Management
- Lead HR projects within your area.
- Act as a Change Agent to support adoption of new HR initiatives.
- Facilitate training related to HR projects.
HR Risk & Compliance
- Monitor HR governance, compliance, and ethics risks.
- Compile HR risk reports and recommend mitigation actions.
- Ensure HR risks are integrated into daily operations.
