Purpose of the job:
to create, oversee, and take responsibility for the development and implementation of the business's HR strategy.

Required Qualifications

1. BComm, preferably with HR and commercial/finance management
2. Having transitioned into HR, operational experience is ideal.
3. At least 15 years of experience, 8 of which must be in senior leadership or management
4. Experience handling IR and HR-related legal issues, including leading legal challenges and defending the company in arbitration and collective bargaining
5. Pan-African knowledge and experience
6. The ability to be a generalist in senior management
7. Experience with organizational design (grading, profiling, organogram design, total rewards models)
8. Willing to visit locations frequently

POSITION INFO:
Technical Competencies & Experience: Strategy Creation: Co-create and operationalise the 3-5 year integrated human resource management strategy Organisational Design: Lead structure changes, oversee job profile development, and direct workforce planning Talent Management: Lead recruitment, onboarding, retention, and succession planning processes across the business Talent Development: Design the HR development strategy, leadership frameworks, and training budget allocations Employee Relations: Drive collective bargaining agreements, manage wage negotiations, and resolve escalated disciplinary cases Legal Representation: Represent the company at the CCMA, labour courts, or regional labour mediations Remuneration Management: Establish fair pay rates, payroll policies, and annual bonus\/benefits review cycles System Digitisation: Optimize Sage 300 HR modules and lead data analytics reporting for executive decision-making Statutory Compliance: Ensure full adherence to international and in-country labour laws and statutory returns Executive Coaching: Advise and coach the executive team on change management and staff leadership activities Behavioural Competencies: First class Communication Skills both verbal and written.
