SUMMARY:
Position: Human Resources Practitioner (Hotel Experience Essential) Junior Level
Location: Cape Town
 
Hospitality Hire is recruiting an experienced Hotel Human Resources Practitioner for a large, established hotel in Cape Town.
We are looking for a hands-on Hotel HR professional with strong generalist experience across employee relations, recruitment and talent acquisition, labour law, HR administration and workplace compliance.
This is an operational HR role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with employees and managers in a fast-paced hospitality environment and who is confident dealing with day-to-day employee relations matters.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements Relevant qualification in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Labour Relations or a related field Minimum 3 to 5 years' practical HR experience , preferably within hospitality, hotels, retail or another high-volume operational environment Strong working knowledge of South African labour legislation including the BCEA, LRA, EEA and related employment legislation Practical employee relations and disciplinary experience essential Experience assisting with or managing disciplinary hearings, grievances and employee investigations Recruitment and talent acquisition experience across multiple levels Experience with onboarding, employee documentation and HR administration Strong understanding of HR policies, procedures and workplace compliance Confident dealing with managers and employees at all organisational levels Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential employee information Strong Microsoft Office skills Previous hotel or hospitality HR experience will be highly advantageous Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day HR support to employees and departmental managers Manage employee relations matters including grievances, disciplinary processes and workplace concerns Assist managers with performance, conduct and attendance-related matters Ensure disciplinary and grievance processes are handled consistently and in accordance with legislation and company policy Prepare documentation for disciplinary hearings, counselling sessions and employee meetings Support recruitment across operational and management positions Coordinate interviews, screening, reference checks and appointment processes Manage onboarding documentation and ensure new employees are correctly inducted Prepare employment contracts, letters and other HR documentation Maintain accurate and confidential employee records Assist with employee movements including promotions, transfers and terminations Monitor compliance with HR policies, procedures and employment legislation Assist with Employment Equity and other statutory HR requirements Support employee engagement and workplace culture initiatives Provide guidance to managers on HR policies and appropriate employee relations procedures Assist with HR reporting and general HR administration Work closely with operational departments to ensure HR remains visible and accessible to employees What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is professional, approachable and confident , with the ability to balance employee support with the operational requirements of the hotel business. The successful candidate should have sound judgement, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to remain calm and objective when dealing with sensitive employee matters.
