ICT Support Technician

The ideal candidate will also have great troubleshooting abilities, attention to detail, and good interpersonal communication skills. The goal is to build and maintain updated and efficient computer systems and networks to optimize the role of technology within the school in a sustainable manner.

Setting up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices

Checking computer hardware (cables, mouses, keyboards, etc.) to ensure functionality

Installing and configuring appropriate software and functions according to specifications

Desktop and teacher support

Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance

Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems

Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment

Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work

Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)

Skills

IP Networking and LAN cabling

esktop Support – level 1 support

Windows 10 Education, macOS, and iOS Operating System configuration

Azure Active Directory user and password management

Microsoft InTune MDM for iOS and Windows devices

Google G-Suite and Microsoft Office 365

VoIP (configuration and testing of IP phones)

Requirements

Matric

Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) or proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position

3/4 years in a coporate environment.

Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills

Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
