INTERNAL SALES MANAGER - Alberton, Gauteng Office-Based - Full-Time - Permanent Salary: R52k/month (commensurate with experience)

POSITION INFO:
A well-established, family-run industrial water and wastewater treatment equipment manufacturer is looking for an experienced Internal Sales Manager to take ownership of its enquiry-to-order process. This is a newly created, specialist role at the centre of the company''''s sales operation, with responsibility for bringing structure and efficiency to quoting, reporting and order handover. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Sales & Marketing and receive direct, weekly mentorship from the company''''s senior technical salesperson, allowing you to build strong product, technical and costing knowledge. This is a career-track internal sales and sales operations position , with a defined progression path towards Sales Operations Manager as the department grows. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Act as the central point of receipt for all incoming RFQs, ensuring enquiries are logged and qualified within 24 hours. Build and maintain the company''''s quoting system and price book. Prepare quotations for standard and, over time, non-standard equipment and project requirements. Obtain and consolidate pricing from principals and partners, including landed costs, lead times and freight. Convert accepted quotations into works orders and ensure effective handover to Operations and Projects. Maintain accurate sales reporting, including weekly pipeline reports, monthly commercial packs and quarterly review information. Monitor national and provincial tender platforms and supplier portals, identify relevant opportunities and provide written summaries to the appropriate team members. Maintain vendor registrations and prequalification requirements to ensure ongoing eligibility for relevant opportunities. Work closely with technical sales, operations and project teams to ensure a smooth enquiry-to-order process. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 5-8 years'''' experience in internal sales, estimating or a quote desk environment. Experience within industrial capital equipment, pumps, process plant, water treatment or a related technical industry . National Diploma or N6 in Mechanical, Process or Industrial Engineering\/discipline, or demonstrably equivalent technical quoting experience . Ability to read and interpret general arrangement drawings, P&IDs and equipment datasheets . Strong commercial and numerical ability, including cost build-ups, margins, landed costs, escalation and payment terms . Advanced Microsoft Excel\/spreadsheet skills . Hands-on experience with CRM systems ; CPQ or configured-quote software experience would be advantageous. Excellent written and verbal English, with the ability to prepare professional client-facing documentation. ADVANTAGEOUS EXPERIENCE South African public and private sector tender platforms and prequalification processes. Imported equipment and knowledge of Incoterms, landed costs and international supplier lead times . Experience implementing, improving or migrating a CRM or quoting system . Exposure to water\/wastewater treatment, pumps, process equipment or industrial capital equipment.
