Duties and Responsibilities:

PERFORMANCE STATEMENT

• To manage the overall day to day operations of the Industrial Relations department of the client and co-ordinate all industrial relations activities.

• Ensure all managers are equipped to deal with IR issues
• Assist with compliance to IR legislation
• Provide day to day advice in terms of risk and compliance
• Prepare internal and external disciplinary matters
• Provide guidance and support to all performance management/incapacity processes
• Ensure consistency in terms of sanctions given
• Conduct continuing study of industrial relations practices to keep abreast of new developments

• Monthly report of all IR issues
• Record all disciplinary actions that occur
• Ensure the correct administration for the sanction is completed (e.g. payments, blacklisting etc.)

• Ensure that all referrals are tracked and that company attends all conciliations/arbitrations
• Discuss pending cases with IR Practitioner to determine whether external representation is required, and that the appropriate level of services are retained
• Attend to all external communication

• POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
• Formulate and recommend Industrial relations policies
• Develop procedures to help align the workforce with the goals of the company
• Conduct continuing study of IR policies and practices to keep management informed of new developments

• Manage employee IR records
• Maintain the HUB

• Run monthly IR reports
• Run monthly CCMA reports

• CONDUCT AUDITS
• Conduct regular audits in terms of IR compliance
• Report back to management in terms of audits monthly
• Action projects/plans to correct non-compliance

• CONDUCT REGULAR NATIONAL SITE MEETINGS
• Conduct regular client/site visits and address all relevant issues
• Report back to management in terms of risks
• Compile visits reports
• Daily communication with clients

• Relevant IR qualification coupled with previous experience in Industrial Relations function
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise at all levels
• Good understanding of current labour legislation with previous hands-on IR experience, including external dispute resolution processes
• Strong ability to coordinate and prioritize time requirements and workloads
• Initiative coupled with an ability to run with projects on their own
• High energy levels
• Relevant computer skills
• Own transport
