Job Purpose

Brief description of the main purpose of this job

Responsible for maintaining and administering multiple organisation''s databases

Out puts

Database maintenance including building of indexes, scheduled jobs, clearing locks, space management and back-ups

Processes

In-depth knowledge of MS-SQL, including database replication and SQL Always On.

Maintain backups and restore databases

Maintain database access

Database restore, deployment and structural changes

Implement data change requests

Performance tuning

Assist with the writing of TSQL code

Configuring and management High-Availability Databases

Define and document database standards and processes

In-depth knowledge of MS-SQL, including database replication and SQL Always On.

Self managed and driven individual with the ability to resolve challenges and problems.
Solutioner.
Good Communication Skills
Fast worker delivering accurate results.
Ability to manage conflict.
Ability to lead a small team of database administrators.
Ability to design and implement database solutions for clients.

Knowledge

Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS),
SQL Always On

SQL Mirroring, replication and log shipping, management of files and file groups, table archiving and partitioning, SQL DR technologies, SQL backup and restore

Essential

Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA)

Qualifications

B.Tech, B.Com or B.Sc. Computer Science or Information Systems or B.Eng.
