The IT Audit Assistant Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of the organisation’s technology environment. This position is responsible for planning, executing, and managing IT audit engagements across various business units. Key responsibilities include assessing IT General Controls (ITGCs), Application Controls, IT Governance frameworks, and Information Security measures to confirm that systems and processes are well-controlled and compliant with both business and regulatory standards.

Duties:

• Plan and execute risk-based IT audits across business units, covering IT general controls, application controls, and system security.
• Assess IT operations, system configurations, and data integrity to ensure alignment with business and regulatory requirements.
• Identify, evaluate, and document IT risks and control gaps, recommending practical solutions to strengthen the control environment.
• Review and provide quality assurance on work performed by junior audit staff, ensuring adherence to audit methodology and standards.
• Collaborate with IT management, business owners, and external auditors to address findings and support timely remediation.
• Present audit results and recommendations to senior management and provide advisory support on system implementations or migrations.
• Stay up to date on emerging technologies, cybersecurity threats, and regulatory developments affecting IT controls.

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Mandatory professional certification: Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
• Additional certifications highly desirable, including Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) ,Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

• Other relevant IT or audit certifications, such as CRISC, CGEIT, or ISO 27001 Lead Auditor

• 5 -7 years of progressive experience in IT Audit, IT Risk, or IT Assurance roles.
• Hands-on experience in IT operations, including system administration, network management, change management, and backup/recovery procedures.
• Strong expertise in IT General Controls (ITGCs), Application Controls, and system implementation reviews.
• Experience conducting audits of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Syspro, Sage, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Working knowledge of IT governance frameworks and standards, including COBIT

• In-depth knowledge of IT operations, including network infrastructure, databases, and operating systems (Windows, Linux, SQL).
• Proficient in data analysis and audit automation using tools such as ACL, IDEA, Power BI, or Excel.
• Good understanding of cybersecurity concepts, access management, and the system development lifecycle.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written communication and report-preparation skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within deadlines.
