SUMMARY:
IT Project Specialist

POSITION INFO:

Purpose:

Identify, plan, manage, track, report and communicate effectively on all IT projects

Specification

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for calculating value over time (contribute to company objectives)

Understand company strategic objectives to identify where IT can make a difference
Liaise with business to understand requirements for any new systems or updates to existing systems
Engage with developers to ensure the business requirement is clearly understood
Clear management reporting on all projects

Ensure Project Governance

Ensure Project Governance and standards are adhered to (Project Charter, RAID log)

Responsible for quality planning of projects

Ensure business requirements for each project are clearly documented and signed off
Provide clear project plans with realistic timelines and appropriate resources

Responsible for risk management related to IT projects

Identify high risk projects
Implement mitigation plans

Responsible for effective leadership on IT projects

Clarify roles and accountability within the team
Include parties from business as appropriate
Deliver on time and within budget

Responsible for effective communication relating to IT projects

Regular status updates to all stakeholders (as agreed in the project plan)
Appropriate and timeous feedback to business, developers and management

Responsible for appropriate scope management on IT projects

Ensure scope changes to projects are clearly understood, documented and measured

Requirements

Formal Education

IT Diploma or relevant project management qualification

Experience

3 – 5 years’ experience in IT and/or Project Management

Knowledge

Computer Literacy (Ms Office Advanced Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Team Foundation Server, SharePoint End-User Advanced)
