The IT Risk Specialist will be responsible for:

• To provide specialist advice, guidance and support to the business and technology community to ensure appropriate development and implementation of an IT risk management programme in accordance with the governance and IT risk requirements.
• To oversee the implementation and monitoring of a risk management framework including policies, standards and security architecture to ensure sound IT management practices
• Partner with business and IT with regard to monitoring and reviewing risk performance
• Recommend and ensure implementation of required changes to IT risk and security policies and procedures
• Provide advice and support on IT risk and compliance, contribute to IT risk reports, and review and assess quality and accuracy of IT reports
• Assess the adequacy of IT continuity and disaster recovery plans
• Provide input into the development and maintenance of the risk framework (a single view of the business’ risk profiles and tolerance)
• Keep abreast of current threats and stay current with IT evolution
• Manage the conceptualisation, planning, and delivery of IT Risk Management projects as assigned
• Serve in an advisory role in application development and infrastructure projects to assess risks.

Qualifications:

• Relevant Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science and/or IT Risk Management
• Preferred: CRISC, CISA, CISSP, CISM, CIA, PECB (ISO)
• COBIT 5 certified (Foundation and Assessor)
• ITIL (Foundation) certification

Experience:

• Minimum: 3 - 5 years’ experience with relevant IT, risk, auditing, governance and compliance experience
• Experience in the financial services industry
