JOB SUMMARY:
Our client, a large listed manufacturer and an industry favorite, want to enhance their cutting edge Group Head Office IT Team. Reporting to the IT Security, Governance and Compliance Lead, the successful person will be responsible for managing security operations and ensuring Information Technology General Controls’ compliance across the group in South Africa and beyond.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in IT/Information Security or equivalent
CISSP/CISM/CEH/CRISC certified
5-7 years’ demonstrable experience in Information Security
3-5 years’ experience in technical security disciplines

Key Performance Areas:

Analyse group Information Technology systems and applications to establish continuity resilience, Disaster Recovery needs and capabilities
Implement security operations roadmap
Maintain Information Security policies and standards and ensure group-wide adoption
Coordinate emergency security patching for servers and client devices
Manage operating system and application security patching of servers and client devices
Manage the web application vulnerability scanning and remediation
Review and manage threats to the groups critical information technology assets as identified by various tools
Conduct and complete 3rd party security risk assessments and 3rd party reviews
Review technology and service proposals from the business to ensure alignment to existing security model, and proactively build in adequate security
Coordinate and manage penetration tests through to remediation
Coordinate and resolve cyber security-related incidents
Manage the security exceptions process and associated risks and violations, escalating to the group IT senior leadership team where necessary
Deliver cyber security education and awareness initiatives
Coordinate the Risk Management process by identifying, documenting and assessing progress of risk mitigation

Competencies:

Knowledge and experience across security products, tools, and industry trends
Good working knowledge of current risk management and assessment standards
Up to date with the latest security threats and risks
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion and personal integrity in the exercise of duties
A self-starter with the ability to operate effectively independently
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders, and build and maintain effective relationships
Effective people management skills
Willingness to travel into all areas of operation, within and outside South Africa as required - Relocation costs will be met
