POSITION INFO:
Requirements Proven experience in IT technical support. Knowledge of hardware, software, and networking concepts. Proficiency in Windows OS and Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Excel, Word). Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Basic programming skills. At least 5 years of Experience in a similar role a must. Valid drivers license Duties Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers, etc.). Following the setup pattern with necessary steps required for Domain functionality and Speciation's) Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices on prim and within company importance environment (routers, printers etc.) Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems for hardware and software systems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.) Check computer hardware (monitors, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality. Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications. Active directory technical skills and setup of users, groups and passwords. Conduct basic network troubleshooting. (Network Points, Switches, Access Control, VOIP Devices, Access Points) Assist in maintaining and updating IT systems and networks in ways that optimize performance. (Including Computers, Servers or any network connected Device.) Compliance with the relevant IT Policy and Procedures. Maintaining Asset Lists and Labelling (Correctly following procedures for Allocation, Returns and Disposals). Provide orientation and guidance\/training to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment. Provide technical assistance and support to end-users. Maintain records\/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule. (Server Updates etc.) Check Backups Daily and provide IT manager with Weekly Sheets to sign off. Collaborate with team members to implement IT projects and initiatives. Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in the IT field. Collect and organize spare parts and maintain inventory records. (Computers, Printer Toners, Printers etc.) Assist in Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive. Assisting and Resetting user passwords for services related to above as well as Active Directory. Collaborate with the IT Manager and team, following all instructions and directives to ensure smooth operation and effective delivery of IT services, while assisting with tasks and projects as assigned. When required, to take part in stock takes and packaging of labels required for Production and Label Printers. Technical Support Diagnose and Resolve Issues: Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems. Identify and repair faulty equipment or replace parts. End-User Assistance: Provide technical support to employees or clients via phone, email, or in-person. Guide users in resolving common technical issues. Support Management: Track and manage support requests Escalate complex issues to higher-level IT staff or external vendors. System Setup and Configuration Hardware Installation: Set up workstations, laptops, printers, and other peripherals. Install and configure computer hardware components. Software Installation: Install, configure, and update operating systems and business applications. Ensure software licenses and compliance. Network Configuration: Set up basic network connections for devices. Assist in connecting to servers, Wi-Fi networks, or shared resources. Maintenance and Monitoring System Maintenance: Perform routine checks on computer systems, hardware, and peripherals. Ensure antivirus software is up-to-date and running. Performance Optimization: Run system diagnostics and optimise system performance. Defragment disks, clean registry errors, and ensure devices are running efficiently. Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of IT assets and equipment. Order and stock necessary IT supplies and replacement parts. Network and Security Support Basic Network Support: Assist in setting up wired and wireless networks. Troubleshoot connectivity issues for devices and users. Security Protocols: Implement basic security measures (e.g., password policies, software updates). Ensure compliance with IT security policies and guidelines. Backup Management: Perform data backups and ensure recovery systems are operational. Documentation and Reporting Record Keeping: Maintain logs of IT support activities and Backups. Document common issues and resolutions for future reference. Reporting: Report recurring issues to IT administrators for further analysis. Provide feedback on potential system improvements. Collaboration Team Support: Work with IT administrators and other team members on larger projects. Assist in implementing new systems or upgrades. Vendor Communication: Coordinate with external vendors for repairs or support. Ensure warranty claims and service agreements are utilized effectively. Other Duties Onboarding and Training: Assist in onboarding new employees with IT equipment and system access. Provide basic IT training or guides to end users. Field Support: Provide on-site support at branch locations or client sites if required. Ad Hoc Tasks: Address miscellaneous technical needs as they arise in the organization.
