Support Engineer

POSITION INFO:
Position: Support Engineer Company \/ Industry : IT Managed Services Location: Paarl, Cape town Salary: R30 000 - R35 000 CTC Job Description: The IT Technician will be responsible for providing technical support to users and troubleshooting problems related to hardware, software, network systems, VMWare environment, 365 Administration, servers, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Azure as well as Hyper-V. This position requires a strong understanding of computer systems and an aptitude for problem-solving and teamwork. Key Responsibilities: Installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware, software, and network systems. Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues reported by users. Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software problems. Responding to technical support inquiries in a timely manner. Providing technical assistance and training to users as needed. Documenting technical support activities and maintaining records. Collaborating with other IT staff to ensure the smooth operation of systems. Performing system upgrades and improvements as needed. Uphold security standards across our network infrastructure. Uphold security standards across our network infrastructure. Technical Excellence: Perform fundamental technical tasks under supervision, ensuring system stability. Assist in troubleshooting basic technical challenges, seeking guidance when needed. Conduct routine maintenance to uphold optimal performance of technical platforms. Onisite and desktop support Qualifications & Experience: Own vehcile required for onsite visits Degree \/ Diploma, Information Technology, or related field. Microsoft certified Relevant vendor and industry certifications, e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, VMware Strong understanding of computer systems and networks. Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users. Knowledge of IT security best practices. Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems. Experience with troubleshooting hardware and software issues. Experience with network systems, VMWare environment, 365 Administration, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Azure as well as Hyper-V. Experience with Servers and SharePoint Experience managing expectations when balancing alternatives against business and financial constraints.
