SUMMARY:
Technical Installation Officer
Location : Strand
Salary R20 000 per month

POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities

Installation of products onsite
Test, configure and implement solutions (hardware & software)
Maintain and repair barcoding equipment (e.g. printers and scanners)
Troubleshoot solution failures or bugs (hardware and/or software related) and provide solutions to restore functionality
Keep records of repairs and fixes for future reference
Offer timely technical support and teach users how to utilize solution(s) correctly
Provide technical assistance and resolution as necessary Required Skills, Knowledge, and Characteristics

Requirements
- Ability to use hand and power tools required
- Relevant certifications required (A+/N+)
- Thorough knowledge of computer systems and IT components
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- Ability to quickly grasp complex concepts
- Must be able to work in a team environment but should also be able to work unsupervised
- Must exhibit a commitment to continuous learning
- Willingness to work overtime as and when required
- Must have own vehicle
- Willingness to travel by car or by air to customers
- Documentation skills will be an advantage (compile manuals, specifications, etc.)
- Able to communicate professionally in Afrikaans and English.

Advantageous

Must have experience with installation of equipment, and provide back end IT support
Networking experience will be an advantage
Relevant database (SQL and/or MySQL) experience will be an advantage
Basic knowledge/understanding of DC electricity will be an advantage
Software development skills – optional
