Industrial Electrician - Netherlands
POSITION INFO:
Job Purpose:
Install, maintain, test, and repair industrial electrical equipment, machinery, and systems to ensure maximum operational efficiency and compliance with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, test, and upgrade mechanical and electrical equipment, generators, UPS, and switchgear (including medium/high voltage).
- Perform routine, preventative, and first-line maintenance tasks (inspection, cleaning, servicing, lubrication).
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical faults, wiring, circuits, and equipment to minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, specifications, and site drawings to determine work sequences and methods.
- Select, cut, and connect wire and cables to terminals and connectors.
- Install, position, and repair electrical switchboards and distribution boards (DBs).
- Connect electrical systems to the power supply and test circuit continuity.
- Adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation, environmental, and industry regulations.
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and supervisors regarding work performed and safety issues.
- Manage, train, and supervise apprentices or junior staff when required.
- Keep accurate maintenance and repair records as well as compliance documentation.
Key Skills & Requirements:
- Trade certification as an electrician (with Section 26 D or similar recommended).
- Experience with industrial electrical systems, including three-phase installations, generators, and PLCs.
- Strong fault-finding, root-cause analysis, and troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to work at heights, handle hand and power tools, and perform manual labor.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance and safety standards, including lockout/tagout and hazard identification.
- Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
