An Industrial Engineer is required to support the Commercial function through developing a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain operations, raw material suppliers, and related systems. The role focuses on accurate product costing, supporting pricing and commercial decisions, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing and the supply chain.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities

Analyse manufacturing processes: labour, machine utilisation, run speed, yields, scrap and capacity.
Conduct time studies, work measurement, and process mapping.
Build and maintain detailed product cost models and costing databases.
Support pricing, tenders and commercial quotations with accurate costing inputs.
Investigate and explain cost variances (standard vs actual).
Analyse raw material usage, waste trends and supplier performance.
Assess inventory accuracy, BOM integrity and routings within ERP/MRP systems.
Improve ERP data governance and support master data accuracy.
Develop performance dashboards, cost reports and operational KPIs (Excel; Power BI beneficial).
Support supply chain efficiency: lead times, material flows, logistics optimisation.
Identify and execute Lean, CI and wasteâreduction initiatives.
Collaborate across Manufacturing, Planning, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, IT and Commercial.
Ensure adherence to Safety, Quality, GMP and Food Safety (FSSC) standards.
Provide operational insights to assist with decisionâmaking and business cases.
Support internal audits and process compliance reviews.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering
3–5 years’ experience in manufacturing, supply chain or industrial engineering
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost drivers
Experience with ERP/MRP systems (BOMs, routings, costing, inventory)
Advanced Excel skills (Power BI an advantage)
Experience in Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement projects
Ability to interpret technical data and convert it into actionable insights
Strong analytical, problemâsolving and process optimisation skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
Comfortable working across shop floor, suppliers and management
Commercially aware and able to support tendering/costing decisions
Interest in sustainability and the future of packaging is an advantage
