Information Systems Data Analyst Senior

The role of the Information Systems Data Analyst Senior includes (but is not limited to) the following duties:

- Review business requirements and develop data requirements and business rules that support the business requirements;

- Perform data analysis and data profiling on data sources and within the data warehouse when analysing how to meet business requirements and identify new data sources;

- Develop a detailed understanding of the data warehouse and processes in order to share the information with business users;

- Develop reports and dashboards that publish, summarise and monitor usage of data in the data warehouse;

- Develop and maintain metadata for data in the data warehouse, reports and dashboards;

- Collaborate with business intelligence analysts and developers to develop translated data requirements into data models;

- Transfer business understanding to the technical team and act as an interface between the business and the technical team; and

- Develop technical specifications and mappings for source to target data feeds.

Minimum Requirements:

- Seven (7) – fifteen (15) years of information systems data analyst experience.

- Appropriate and recognised formal data analyst related tertiary qualification.

- Experience in at least two of the following areas, but with knowledge of all:

1) Data analysis;

2) Data profiling;

3) Data modelling (dimensional and/or standard);

4) Data integration;

5) Data lineage;

6) Metadata management.

The technical skills required for this position are:

- Solid ability in structured query language (SQL) scripting;

- Solid knowledge of data reporting and visualisation tools;

- Solid understanding of data integration and data integration tools;

- Solid understanding of data profiling and data profiling tools;

- Solid understanding of data modelling (dimensional and/or standard form) and data modelling tools;

- Solid understanding of database management systems and data warehouse architectures; and

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
