Vacancy: Instrument Technician - North West Province
Job Summary:
Established company is seeking an experienced Instrument Technician to join their team in the North West Province. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and practical experience in instrumentation within the mining industry. This role demands a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality in all operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair instrumentation and control systems in mining operations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex instrument-related issues to implement effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to instrumentation.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to optimize instrumentation performance.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to inform maintenance and installation activities.
- Conduct regular inspections and tests of instruments to ensure functionality and accuracy.
- Assist in the programming and troubleshooting of PLC systems as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and instrumentation performance.
- Train and mentor junior instrumentation technicians and apprentices.
- Adhere to safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
Essential Qualifications:
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- National Diploma or N6 in Instrumentation.
- Instrumentation Trade Test Certificate.
Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as an Instrument Technician in the mining industry.
- Solid knowledge of various instruments, control systems, and SCADA systems used in mining operations.
- Strong understanding of electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles related to instrumentation.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming and troubleshooting is advantageous.
- Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex instrument-related issues.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work with precision and accuracy.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Must be medically fit and have a clear criminal record.
- Must have own reliable transport.
Salary & Benefits:
- Monthly Salary: R 70,000 - R 75,000.
