Our client is seeking a motivated Mid-Level Game Developer to contribute to innovative projects in the gaming industry, leveraging Unreal Engine 5 to deliver captivating gameplay features and systems. Duties: Develop gameplay features, systems, and tooling using Unreal Engine 5, utilizing Blueprint and C++ as appropriate. Collaborate with designers and developers to implement and iterate game mechanics, player interactions, and content pipelines. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that aligns with team standards and supports product longevity. Debug and profile game builds to identify and resolve performance issues, logic errors, and unexpected behaviours. Participate in design discussions, sprint planning, and reviews, offering both technical and creative insights. Integrate assets from content creators into the engine, ensuring accuracy and performance benchmarks. Research Unreal Engine features, community solutions, and industry best practices to address development challenges. Contribute to internal tooling and automation to enhance team efficiency. Support testing efforts by creating test cases, reproducing bugs, and assisting with quality assurance processes. Requirements: Solid experience in game development, with a minimum of 3 years in the industry. Proficiency in C++ and Blueprint scripting within Unreal Engine 5. Strong understanding of gameplay systems, content pipelines, and engine features. Ability to write clean, scalable, and maintainable code. Excellent problem-solving skills for debugging and performance profiling. Good collaboration and communication skills. Familiarity with the following: Data management and automation within Unreal Engine. Management of game content and assets. Experience with R programming language is a plus.
