Intermediate Support and Integrations engineer

SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for an Intermediate Support and Integrations engineer who will be responsible for the integration of diverse systems, networks, and servers to achieve overall aims. Troubleshoot and debug system issues to increase performance and quality of data. Document technical information and keep documentation up to date.

POSITION INFO:

Skills and experience

• A highly skilled technical professional who is trained to resolve problems quickly and assist the customer with all aspects of their service needs.
• Minimum of 2 years’ mobile telecoms experience in a Support and Integration position.
• Experience in integration and supporting applications and troubleshooting.
• Experience with working in a Telco environment.
• Training skills are advantages.
• Unix or Linux Skills are essential.
• System administration skills are required.
• Bash scripting is advantageous.
• Intermediate SQL Knowledge is essential.

Role and Responsibilities

• Taking ownership of customer issues reported and seeing problems through to resolution.
• Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers
• Ask customers targeted questions to quickly understand the root of the problem
• Researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and identifying solutions to resolve system issues.
• Ensure all issues are properly logged
• Following standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams.
• Work closely with peers and management in the operations environment and cross-functionally groups.
• Successful Integrations of applications in Customer Environments.
• Complete projects and associated phases in time and within budget.
• Interpret high-level business requirements and provide technical specification documents.
• Provide input into development requirements and ways of working.
• Provide estimates on work to be completed.
• Investigate, analyze and report customer requirements or bugs.
• Create, document, and implement solution documentation.
• Create and maintain technical documentation using defined technical documentation templates.
• Upskilling of junior or new staff in the operations team.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Other requirements

• Must have a valid work permit or be a permanent SA resident.
• Must be willing and able to do standby on a rotational basis.
• Must be willing to travel to any destination internationally
• Must have a passport
