Gijima is recruiting 1 x Systems Engineer Intern in Pietermaritzburg.  The intern will assist in providing Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory and VMWare support. Knowledge on Access Control and clocking will be an advantage.  CANDIDATE MUST LIVE IN PIETERMARITZBURG.

POSITION INFO:
The criteria is as follows:-

• Candidates must have completed a 3-year Degree, Diploma or National Diploma in Information Technology
• ITIL v3 Foundation Certification and relevant Microsoft Certifications will be an added advantage
• Clear credit (ITC) and no criminal record
• Candidates must currently be unemployed
• Candidates must not be participating on another learnership or internship program
• Candidates must not currently be enrolled at a Tertiary Institution
• Candidates must have effective communication in written and verbal English
• Candidates must live in the Pietermaritzburg area – relocation is not an option
• Candidates must be under the age of 35 as of 1 August 2025
• Candidates must be a South African Citizen – African, Indian and coloured can apply

• Knowledge of Wintel theory, Wintel administration and Wintel tuning
  • MD102 certification or equal
• Knowledge of Performance Monitoring
  • NQF System Support
• Network communications (Basic)
  • Knowledge UTP and Fiber Cable
  • Understanding of Cisco, Moxa, Checkpoint devices
  • Configuration of the above
  • Cisco CCNA
  • Network Monitoring
  • Ability to understand network infrastructure
• Knowledge of TCP/IP
• Knowledge of Server Sizing
• Knowledge in VMware will be an added advantage
  • Active knowledge of different type of Hypervisors
  • Management of VMs
• Knowledge of Scada systems
  • Ignition, System platform, Siemens, ABB
• Knowledge of OT Systems
  • PLC, Remote I/O and Drives
• Knowledge of OT Protocols
