Seeking an Inventory & Procurement Controller with 2-4 years of experience to join our team in Cosmo City in Roodepoort.

POSITION INFO:

Job Title: Inventory & Procurement Controller

Seniority Level: Mid-Career (2 - 4 yrs exp) Type: Permanent

Duties and Responsibilities:

Key functional responsibilities

Inventory
1. Establish ideal inventory levels by applying appropriate inventory models
2. Calculate stocked inventory purchases based on minimum stock assumptions and expected material usage

Actively compare available inventory levels to expected and actual requirements and develop plans to expedite stock orders to avoid stock-out

Play a key role in ensuring stock accuracy / integrity

Procurement
1. Place orders with local and international suppliers
2. Expedite orders

Develop and maintain supplier relationships

Participate in developing a supplier risk management strategy
Develop and maintain company procurement policies
Orders are complete

Logistics
1. Manage logistic arrangements to import stock effectively
2. Develop and facilitate an inventory tracking system that provides accurate updates on expected inventory deliveries

Continuously seek opportunities to optimize logistical effectiveness and cost

Key Deliverables
1. Maintain optimum stock levels
2. Ensure stock is available when it is required
3. Optimize the logistical supply chain:
  1. Minimum supply delivery period
  2. Minimize logistical costs

Minimize unplanned purchases

Reports to
1. Head of Finance
Qualifications
1. Matric | Grade 12
2. Inventory and procurement qualifications will be advantageous
3. Experience in inventory important
Attributes
1. Strong communication and negotiation skills
2. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
3. Attention to detail
Experience required
1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software
2. Working with Sage 200 Evolution
3. Ability to develop procurement models using advanced excel skills
4. Experience in the fenestration industry will be advantageous but not be a requirement
5. International procurement from Europe will be advantageous
6. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
