Inventory & Procurement Controller

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Key functional responsibilities

1. Inventory
   1. Establish ideal inventory levels by applying appropriate inventory models
   2. Calculate stocked inventory purchases based on minimum stock assumptions and expected material usage

• Actively compare available inventory levels to expected and actual requirements and develop plans to expedite stock orders to avoid stock-out

1. Play a key role in ensuring stock accuracy / integrity

1. Procurement
   1. Place orders with local and international suppliers
   2. Expedite orders

• Develop and maintain supplier relationships

1. Participate in developing a supplier risk management strategy
2. Develop and maintain company procurement policies
3. Orders are complete

1. Logistics
   1. Manage logistic arrangements to import stock effectively
   2. Develop and facilitate an inventory tracking system that provides accurate updates on expected inventory deliveries

• Continuously seek opportunities to optimize logistical effectiveness and cost

1. Key Deliverables
   1. Maintain optimum stock levels
   2. Ensure stock is available when it is required
   3. Optimize the logistical supply chain:
      1. Minimum supply delivery period
      2. Minimize logistical costs

• Minimize unplanned purchases

   1. Head of Finance
2. Qualifications
   1. Matric | Grade 12
   2. Inventory and procurement qualifications will be advantageous
   3. Experience in inventory important
3. Attributes
   1. Strong communication and negotiation skills
   2. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
   3. Attention to detail
4. Experience required
   1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software
   2. Working with Sage 200 Evolution
   3. Ability to develop procurement models using advanced excel skills
   4. Experience in the fenestration industry will be advantageous but not be a requirement
   5. International procurement from Europe will be advantageous
   6. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
