SUMMARY:
A well-established manufacturer of agrochemicals is seeking the above to manage and analyse the inventory situation by monitoring the rate of sale for each type of product, ensuring warehouses maintain inventory levels necessary to meet projected sales demands.

POSITION INFO:


Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Must have a relevant BA or BS degree
  • An MBA degree would be preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in Supply Chain and Logistics, mainly in a manufacturing environment, would be required
  • Exceptional analytical and interpersonal skills are essential
  • Must have the ability to drive in a multi-country and multicultural environment

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Performing financial analytics to determine which products are selling the most and which are under-performing.
  • Coordinating slow mover management with Country Supply Planners.
  • Monitoring and reporting on market obsolescence.
  • Managing the distribution budget.
  • Steering D&O processes across Africa with relevant stakeholders.
  • Managing D&O targets (provisions vs actuals) and conducting D&O reviews at cluster and country level.
  • Providing a monthly overview on D&O and variances.
  • Managing the destruction of seed, including provision, against actual costs, system alignment (block status etc).
  • Performing monthly tracking FEFO and quality prioritization.
  • Liaising with the Quality department on sampling.
  • Steering implementation projects related to inventory, including FEFO and the automation of D&O requests.
  • Performing regular inventory counts and verifying the numbers against shipping and receiving logs.
  • Preparing regular inventory reports, detailing inventory counts, discrepancies and other statistical data.
  • Participating in local S&OE and providing key insights on inventory.
  • Developing process improvements to achieve company inventory goals.
  • Implementing initiatives to reduce slow moving/D&O inventories and to improve inventory turns.
  • Assisting in inventory risk assessment and mitigation activities.
  • Monitoring stock quality data i.e. missing batch numbers.
  • Preparing and analysing monthly inventory listing (MB52) with Quality, and distributing outcomes to relevant stakeholders i.e. Planning, Costing and Customer Service.
  • Harmonize conversion factors across reporting within Finance, Planning and Inventory i.e. actual bag weight and not averages.

Salary package, including benefits, are highly negotiable depending on experience gained
