SUMMARY:

POSITION INFO:
A multinational organization operating across complex, capital‑intensive sectors, with satellite offices in Johannesburg North, is seeking a driven Investment Analyst to support its M&A and strategic investment activities. This role plays a critical part in evaluating acquisition targets, supporting transaction execution, and providing post‑deal financial analysis to support long‑term value creation.

Your work will directly influence investment decisions, transaction outcomes, and portfolio performance, with exposure spanning the full deal lifecycle; from origination through to integration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain advanced financial models and valuation analyses to support mergers, acquisitions, and strategic investments.
• Analyse historical financials, forecasts, and operational data of potential acquisition targets.
• Prepare investment memorandums, transaction packs, and deal presentations for senior management and investment committees.
• Support the due diligence process, including financial, commercial, and operational assessments.
• Evaluate deal structures, funding options, and acquisition scenarios through sensitivity and scenario modelling.
• Conduct industry and market research to identify acquisition opportunities, trends, and deal risks.
• Assist with post‑deal performance monitoring, tracking actual results against acquisition assumptions.
• Support multi‑currency financial analysis related to international transactions and investments.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors on transaction‑related initiatives.

Support to the Group Financial Manager:

• Provide analytical and coordination support on M&A‑related financial projects.
• Assist with the preparation of Board packs, investment committee documentation, and transaction updates.
• Coordinate financial inputs for deal approvals and post‑investment reporting.
• Act as a key support function in consolidating financial insights for senior management decision‑making.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• BCom Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• 3+ years’ relevant experience, either within transaction advisory / investment divisions of audit firms or commercial experience in an Investment Analyst or M&A‑focused role.
• Strong financial modelling and valuation skills, with deal‑based application.
• Demonstrated exposure to due diligence and transaction support.
• Multi‑currency experience is essential.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
• Experience within capital‑intensive, project‑based, or technical industries would be advantageous.
• Ability to communicate complex financial insights clearly to senior stakeholders.
