Job Description

The Senior Claims Negotiator is responsible for managing the full claims process for commercial short-term insurance claims — from registration through to settlement.

This role requires sound technical knowledge, analytical ability, and a client-service mindset to ensure fair, efficient, and timely resolution of claims in line with company policy and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Matric (Grade 12) – essential
Short-term Insurance qualification – advantageous

Skills

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in claim assessment
FAIS compliance – advantageous
Minimum 10 years’ experience in commercial claims within the short-term insurance industry
Strong administrative and organisational abilities
Deadline-driven with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
Assertive communicator with sound interpersonal and negotiation skills
Analytical thinker with the ability to make sound, evidence-based decisions
Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
Fluency in English and Afrikaans – required
