An established and well-regarded organisation within the construction and engineering sector is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join their Head Office finance team.

This role sits within a Shared Services environment, supporting financial operations across multiple African entities. It’s an excellent opportunity for a developing finance professional to gain broad regional exposure and strengthen their technical accounting skills in a fast-paced environment.

You will play a key role in supporting financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance across various African jurisdictions. Duties:

• Prepare and process journal entries
• Perform monthly reconciliations (bank, general ledger, intercompany)
• Assist with monthly management accounts
• Support regional financial reporting across African operations
• Assist with statutory and tax compliance requirements
• Support audit processes and provide required documentation
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies
• Provide ongoing financial administration support to regional teams

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma inAccounting, Finance, or related field

• 2–4 years’ relevant accounting experience
• Experience working with multi-currency and multi-entity environments (advantageous)
• Strong Excel skills (advanced level required)
• Exposure to ERP systems (Buildsmart advantageous)
• Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles (advantageous, not essential)

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls
• Solid experience with reconciliations (bank, intercompany, creditors, debtors, fixed assets)
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Good understanding of VAT and tax compliance
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across regional teams
