JOB SUMMARY:
Junior Category Manager (BEE)

Must have sound knowledge of the retail and industrial sector, advanced knowledge of marketing principles and pricing strategies,
knowledge of market conditions, great negotiation skills and knowledge of competitor products.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum Requirements

Matric
Tertiary qualification or relevant marketing degree/diploma (i.e. BCom. IMM GSM) recommended
Proven track record with progression within a company
3-5 years’ experience in the Hand Tool Industry preferable
Valid code 08 driver’s license and own reliable transport
Willing to travel

Responsibilities (not limited to)

Successfully bring product to market
Ensure product profitability and ROI
Ensure selling tools are updated and freely available
Achieve and exceed targeted turnover
Maintain and exceed GP % & Rands banked
Successful launch of new products
Achieve forecast unit sales
Maintain stock turn and inventory days
Analyze markets to identify market threats and opportunities
Develop marketing strategy
Identify opportunity for new product introduction from current customers, new customers, or other sources
Create and update product manual for sales training and internal stakeholders
Provide sales training on product, and at new product launches
Conduct on the job training by co-travelling with sales team
Train customer on product related topics
Marker brand corporate identity, market promotions and meet advertising deadlines
Ensure accuracy of catalogues, templates, broadsheets, & online platforms
Spokesperson and communication with stakeholders
Negotiate and build relationships with suppliers and support customers
Design buying and planning strategies
Adhere to Consumer Protection Act
