POSITION INFO:
About the Role: A dynamic opportunity for an LLB graduate with completed articles or equivalent corporate\/commercial legal experience. This role supports the Head of Legal & Risk in contract management, insurance, claims, governance, and compliance across a leading logistics and freight management group. Key Responsibilities: Review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts (SLAs, MSAs, JV agreements, leases, finance\/security agreements, NDAs). Support litigation, disputes, and compliance processes. Provide advisory input on legislation (Ports Act, maritime conventions, environmental, labour, POPIA, Companies Act, Competition Law, Tax). Assist with insurance programmes, risk registers, and claims administration. Maintain governance records, registers, and reporting documentation. Participate in risk committees and support operational risk management. Requirements: LLB Degree (essential). Completed articles or corporate\/commercial legal experience. Strong drafting and contract interpretation skills. Exposure to logistics\/supply chain\/maritime industry advantageous. Excellent communication, organisational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Competencies: Commercial awareness, sound judgement, professionalism, integrity, stakeholder management, and ability to work independently while escalating appropriately.
