Junior Mechanical Technician/Engineer (mining)

SUMMARY:
Junior Mechanical Technician with a sincere interest in the Mining sector required. Trainee position with excellent career growth. The position aims to become a specialist in the field of hoist / winding engine/cableway/areaway steel wire ropes. The position is at a well-established manufacturing company that is a leader in the field of servicing the Mining sector. National Diploma/BTech Mechanical graduate engineer with hands-on skills required and willing to work underground.

POSITION INFO:
Mechanical Technician: Undergound mining

Johannesburg, travel to sites in Mpumalanga, Gauteng, and Limpopo.

Junior Mechanical Engineer/Technician is required to be trained in servicing the mining and associated industry with specialist skills in testing technically engineered products.

Qualification:

• National Diploma
• Willing and able to work undergound in mining sector
• Must have a sincere interest in working in a hands-on technical role and be willing to travel once training is completed

• Will gain skills in machinery and aspects of fatigue testing and performance.
• Will gain extensive skills in selecting and testing raw materials and manufactured materials to ensure the best products are provided to an array of clients
• Will undergo intense training in safe mining practices.
• Will become a specialist in Mining Hoist Rope inspection, offshore crane rope types, Stay ropes, haul/heel ropes, mine winders, and elevators
• Magnetic Rope testing.
• Providing technical solutions
• Assist with audits and rope safety inspections for clients
