SUMMARY:
The Junior SHEQ Officer plays a vital role in coordinating risk management and ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) standards across the manufacturing site. This position is responsible for maintaining legal registers, conducting audits and risk assessments, and ensuring that all SHEQ -related activities align with ISO and regulatory requirements. The role supports internal stakeholders through proactive identification and mitigation of compliance risks and contributes to a safe, legally compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace.

Position available for a Junior SHEQ Officer, Johannesburg based.

QUALIFICATIONS

Grade 12 / Matric
BTech in Safety Management (Advantageous)
SAMTRAC or NEBOSH Certification (Required)
ISO 9001/14001/45001 Internal Auditor Certificate (Advantageous)
Valid Driver’s License (Preferred)

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

1–3 years of relevant SHEQ experience in manufacturing or FMCG
Proven experience in conducting risk assessments and incident investigations
Strong knowledge of ISO Management Systems (ISO 45001 and ISO 14001)
Experience with internal and external audit processes
Ability to conduct toolbox talks and employee SHEQ awareness campaigns
Working knowledge of PPE specifications and safety signage requirements
Ability to conduct hazard identification and recommend risk control measures
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and excellent report writing ability
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
