LLB Graduate - tax law

SUMMARY:
My client in tax consulting services is seeking an LLB Graduate with 2 - 5 years experience and an interest in tax law.

POSITION INFO:

• 2-5 year experience
• This position requires experience and an interest in tax law
• Equipped to handle high pressure environment

Duties:

• Managing own clients
• Drafting legal opinions
• Research on various areas of law
• Advisory and compliance
• General tax advice
• Invoicing clients and tracking billables
• Assisting consultants and other internal staff with legal research
• Miscellaneous assistance to Line Manager/Director
• Reviewing opinions and articles drafted by internal staff/attorneys
• Drafting contracts, including internal company contracts on an ad hoc basis

Attending to client specific matters which include, but are not limited to the following:

• Drafting legal opinions;
• Representing client in SARS dispute resolution – objections, appeals etc.;
• Applying for Rulings;
• Corresponding with SARS on a regular basis;
• Preparing and submitting Voluntary Disclosure Applications;
• Research on various aspects of tax law;
• Proposing tax efficient corporate structures;
• Trust tax advisory;
• Expatriate tax advisory;
• Drafting contracts with tax principles in mind;
• General tax advice;
• Assisting group employees with legal/tax law research; and
• Reviewing opinions and articles drafted by internal staff/attorneys.
