JOB & COMPANY DESCRIPTION

The Lead Cost Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that the activity-based cost models are up to date and accurate across all dimensions, including transactions, products, and distribution channels. The Lead Cost Analyst will be responsible for applying the activity-based costing framework through building new models and/or interrogating existing models to generate new insights that contribute to optimizing the business. The Lead Cost Analyst will also be responsible for adhering to IFRS and dealing with regulatory bodies and external counterparties.

EDUCATION

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

BCom Honors in Accounting
SAICA articles completed
Studying or completed CIMA

JOB EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

At least 3 years’ experience in analytical roles that included exposure to activity based costing and financial analysis
Experience in retail banking is preferred
Experience in building activity based cost models from first principles and constructing business cases
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience dealing with senior management/executive committee
Willingness to spend time away overnight from home
Attention to detail
Decision making skills
Strong analytical skills
