Top FMCG Manufacturing firm seeks a Lead Mechanical Engineer Executive to ensure the efficient performance, safe operation and reliability of manufacturing plants in the group. Engineering Managers will report to this person.

What the person must be able to do:

This role is in the FMCG Manufacturing sector. All duties would take place in this context.

* Leadership

  * Provide Thought Leadership to the Maintenance Team

  * Coach and Develop Team

  * Performance Management of Team

  * Hands-on Guidance with Complex Mechanical Faults

  * Gain the support and supervisory technicians

  * Upskill the maintenance and utility teams

* Safety & Legal Compliance

  * Ensure compliance within fire hazardous zones

  * Ensure OHAS Act legal compliance regarding inspections and tests (Boilers, Pressure Vessels, etc...)

  * Drive existing safety initiatives

  * Continuous  Improvement of existing safety initiatives and ISO requirements

  * Incident prevention - rather than cure

  * GMR 2.1 Appointee

* Maintenance

  * Maximise plant uptime and OEE

  * Develop Long term strategy and philosophy for asset management

  * Optimize energy efficiency and  power utilization (steam, electricity, water, air, etc )

  * Implement RCM, TPM, CBM and Related Practices

  * Implement Maintenance Tracking System like Pragma or Equivalent

  *  Define Inspections, Planned Maintenance Activities & Intervals

  *  Ensure Parts Availability for Equipment

  *  Equipment Modifications to Improve Performance & Reliability

  *  Reduce Equipment Operating Costs

* Capital Projects - Plant Upgrades

  * Identitify opportunities for improvement

  * Annual capital budget, inputs, justification and presentation

  * Detailed project and MOC (management of change) costing

  * Manage Projects and Implementation

  * Manage Project Costing and Budgets

* Utilities

  * Drive sustainability initiatives

  * In particular focus on savings in water, steam and electricity savings

  * Maintenance of Turbine Power Generation Plant & HP Boilers

* Financial

  * Annual factory maintenance, major repair and shutdown budget inputs and presentation.

  * Create Maintenance Budgets

  * Ensure Adherence to Budget

  * Focus on monthly high cost report and variances

  * Cost savings

* Engineering Spares and Consumables

  * Manage Engineering Stores

  * Continually update critical spares list

  * Ensure suppliers have adequate consignment stock

* Benchmarking

  * International benchmarking against similar operations in the group

Key Job Deliverables:

*  Improve Lifespan of Equipment

*  Improve Condition of Equipment

*  Improve OEE of Plant

Background work experience:

*  5 years Setting up Maintenance Best Practice - Predictive, Preventative, Corrective

*  10 years Hands-On Mechanical Diagnostics, Repair and Recurrence Prevention

*  5 years Plant Enhancement & Capital Projects

*  5 years Utilities Maintenance - Particularly HP Boilers & Power Generation

*  Mechanical Engineering (S4, BTech or BSc)

*  Deep Expertise on Predictive Maintenance Practices

*  Setting up an RCM, TPM and CBM based maintenance system. Including software like Pragma or equivalent.

*  Putting on overalls and assisting team with complex and tricky mechanical faults

*  Identifying opportunities for plant improvement and putting in place projects to achieve those improvements

*  Microsoft Office with Intermediate Excel

*  Must understand how to maintain the following equipment:

   * Plant Equipment

   * Large Scale Boilers (Coal and Gas Powered)

   * Evaporators

   * Dryers or Distillation Columns

   * Reactors

   * Centrifuges

   * High speed machines

   * Conveyors
