Lead Test Analyst

My client with Head quarters in Cape Town, is seeking to appoint a Lead Test Analyst to join their super dynamic team. They have a footprint into all African Countries and looking for a very dynamic candidate. This is a Hybrid working from home position.

POSITION INFO:

My client with Head quarters in Cape Town, is seeking to appoint a Lead Test Analyst to join their super dynamic team. They have a footprint into all African Countries and looking for a very dynamic candidate. This is a Hybrid working from home position.

Duties and Responsibilities (Includes but is not limited to):

• To mentor Test Analysts across various teams
• Share knowledge & best practices with the team
• Ensure opportunities are available for testers to gain development
• Foster collaboration within the team and motivate others to provide innovative solutions for team improvement
• To ensure the effective functioning of the Testing discipline
• Maintain oversight of all Test functions within the domain incl UAT
• Collaborate with other lead test analysts to ensure that testing best practices are implemented across domains.
• Participate in recruitment processes for additional testers
• Participate in performance review discussions for Test Analysts
• Collaboration with relevant teams for feedback
• To liaise and work together with the Scrum team to ensure software requirements are achieved
• Make use of the agile techniques for development and testing
• Liaise with the Scrum master, Product Owners & Head of Domain as required
• To test software to ensure minimum down time
• Validate all criteria against user stories
• Ensure test criteria are aligned and traceable to acceptance criteria
• Generate a defect report and revert back to the development team
• Action all tasks allocated and mark as completed when tested/block with comment if fault occurs
• To be an escalation point for testers
• To ensure the efficiency of the testing systems and processes
• Review current testing processes
• Identify areas which are not efficient or effective
• Propose recommendations to strategically improve systems and processes
• Implement and monitor improvements
• Contribute to management reporting including appropriate test metrics on planning, defects and execution
• To manage own professional and self development

Key Requirements:

• Grade 12 /or equivalent (Essential)
• IT Qualification (Desirable)
• 5 years’ experience as a Test Analyst (Essential)
• 2+ years’ experience mentoring or leading testers (Essential)
• Working within a vendor or external client facing environment (Desirable)
• Financial Services/ Payment / Fintech industry experience (Desirable)
• Knowledge of QA methodology, tools and processes – manual and automated
• Knowledge of APIs, SQL & computer programming language (desirable)
• Knowledge of UAT processes
• Knowledge of bug-tracking tools
