SUMMARY:
Our client, a national manufacturing concern, currently seeks a Learning & Development Specialist to ensure the delivery of occupationally directed education, training and development to Line Managers and employees to improve the performance of individuals and effectiveness of the organization.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • National Diploma in HR Management or relevant qualification in the Education, Training & Development (ETD) field.
  • Min 3 years operational experience in an ETD environment.
  • Sound knowledge of the Skills Development Act, Employment Equity Act, and their relevant regulations, and the new national learning dispensation (including institutions and policies).
  • Experience in Training Provider Management in an ETD environment.
  • Accreditation to design and conduct an assessment for an integrated Learning Programme.
  • Advanced computer literacy, and the corporate HRIS Programme; merSETA National Skills Development Management System; Department of Labour Online Employment Equity Reporting System.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Learning Administration:
    • Prepare L&D materials to a consistently high standard and ensure that they reach the delegates/Facilitators within agreed timescales.
    • Update the L&D calendar.
  • Learning implementation:
    • Assist Facilitators and Line Managers in identifying employee training needs and solve specific training or learning problems.
    • Brief external suppliers & Facilitators on the specific requirements of the L&D intervention and source details.
    • Evaluate the programmes using accepted criteria.
    • Schedule staff to attend internal & external learning events.
    • Collate L&D evaluations to enable amendments to programme.
    • Provide technical expertise on external industry committees and bodies.
  • Learning System Quality Assurance:
    • Collate training information for audit purposes. BBBEE, ISO etc.
    • Produce and maintain large volumes of accurate electronic and manual L&D records in compliance with organisational policies and procedures ensuring that record keeping is up to date.
    • Participate in audits and ensure recommendations are actioned.
    • Regularly audit system integrity to ensure compliance.
  • SETA Management
    • Manage learners and Learnerships through the SETA.
    • Co-ordinate and provide input into the Workplace Skills and Annual Training Report plan.
    • Provide administrative support in the Skills Development levy claim process.
    • Perform programme planning, co-ordination and qualification development within the SETA framework.
  • Talent pipeline (bursaries, interns, apprentices & company assisted studies)
    • Provide input and partake in the process of selection, appointment and development of the bursary students, Interns and Apprentices.
    • Build relationships with relevant universities and learning institutions to enable the delivery of quality interventions for students.
    • Provide support to employees with regard to the company assisted studies process.
  • Employment Equity:
    • Design and develop interventions and action plans to support the implementation of the EE strategy.
    • Manage the implementation and ensure compliance to the EE strategy.
    • Participate in the implementation and utilisation of equity related processes.

Other:

  • Facilitate internal training interventions.
  • Develop material for in-house training.
  • Work with training providers to develop suitable course content.
  • Gather information for learning communications i.e. editorials for the company noticeboard and newsletters.
  • Self-management.
  • Support and drive the business and HR''s core values.
