A dynamic opportunity is open for a Legal Advisor: Investments to join a forward-thinking team within a major development finance environment. This role is ideal for a driven legal professional looking to influence strategic investment decisions and contribute to transformative infrastructure and project finance deals across the continent.

The successful candidate will be embedded in investment teams, providing legal insight at every stage of the deal lifecycle. From due diligence and deal structuring to negotiation and documentation, this role requires both legal acumen and a strong commercial mindset.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Advising on the legal structuring of investment transactions, particularly project finance deals
• Conducting legal due diligence and preparing robust legal opinions
• Drafting and reviewing complex agreements, term sheets, and transaction documents
• Negotiating with clients, co-investors, and stakeholders to secure sound legal terms
• Supporting internal credit committees with legal insight
• Ensuring all transactions are compliant with applicable legislation and internal governance
• Liaising with external counsel and managing legal risks across the investment portfolio

Requirements:

• LLB degree and admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa
• Minimum 3 years post-admission experience
• At least 4 years’ experience in commercial, finance, or corporate law within a financial institution or law firm
• Exposure to infrastructure, banking or project finance transactions
• Advantageous: experience in public-private partnerships and a legal postgraduate qualification
