POSITION INFO:
Our client is a leading specialist lender focused on providing tailored funding solutions to mid-market businesses. The organisation partners with entrepreneurs, business owners, and corporate clients to deliver working capital, commercial property finance, term lending, and structured finance solutions. As a Lending Dealmaker, you will be responsible for originating, structuring, negotiating, and executing profitable lending transactions while managing the full client lifecycle from opportunity identification through to financial close and ongoing portfolio management. This role offers significant exposure to corporate lending, strategic client engagement, credit assessment, and transaction execution, making it ideal for a commercially-minded finance professional seeking a dynamic and highly visible role. Key Responsibilities Originate and develop quality lending opportunities aligned with business strategy and risk appetite. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of bankable transactions through networking and business development. Identify, engage, and convert new clients while strengthening existing relationships. Understand client funding requirements and structure tailored financing solutions. Prepare and present transaction proposals, credit papers, investment memorandums, and client presentations. Structure commercially viable financing transactions that balance client needs and risk objectives. Collaborate with Credit, Treasury, Legal, Operations, and external stakeholders throughout the deal lifecycle. Manage approved transactions through implementation, drawdown, and successful financial close. Conduct detailed financial, commercial, and credit assessments. Monitor portfolio performance and proactively manage emerging risks. Present transactions to Credit Committees and other funding providers. Develop strong relationships with clients, professional advisers, investors, and internal stakeholders. Job Experience and Skills Required CA(SA), CFA, MBA, or Master's qualification will be advantageous. 2-4 years of experience in a lending, dealmaking, or structured finance environment. Experience within corporate banking, commercial banking, private debt, specialised finance, structured lending, or asset finance. Strong credit underwriting, financial analysis, and cash flow modelling capabilities. Experience structuring and executing debt transactions. Ability to engage with business owners, CFOs, investors, and professional advisers. Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
