Logistics Co-ordinator (Tanzanian)

SUMMARY:
Looking for a hands on logistics specialist with experience in the freight/cargo/transport/logistics industries.

POSITION INFO:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Tracking assigned shipments to ensure successful delivery of logistics services
• Handling external logistics suppliers, warehouse operations, clearing agents and freight service providers to ensure successful delivery of jobs on time and in specification to satisfy client requirements
• Ensure clearance documentation provided by clients is proactively analyzed before arrival of cargo and ensure that shipping methods comply with rules, regulations and applicable laws
• Accurate and timely provision of information and resolution of queries, verifying and meeting established deadlines
• Following up on customs pre clearances, load planning, cargo loading and transport allocation
• Make sure that empty containers are returned to the shipping line nominated depots
• Prepare accurate and timely reports as required and update the company’s ERP systems
• Work in accordance with all company policies, procedures and processes
• Travel to physical client and supplier sites
• Inspecting deliveries for misplaced orders or damaged goods

• 2-3years’ experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of Port, Shipping, CFS and border Operations
• Solid knowledge in customs clearance processes in common market for eastern Africa region
• Good communication, interpersonal and IT skills
